Keeping Cool with HS

Everyone needs a bit of help on hot or humid days, especially those of us with Hidradenitis Suppurativa.

Think about fabric that is light, breathable and porous. Cotton and linen are great options and can help keep you cool.

There are several ways to cool your body temperature, whether that be via head, neck, wrists, ankles, waist (pressure points), or your feet when you’re able.

Some ideas include (see below for photos; links can be found here):

  • Putting your feet in cool water as much as you can at home or using a portable foot basin

  • Cooling or Ice cloths

  • Various cold/ice packs (head, wrist, ankles, chest, etc.)

  • Arctic portable air conditioner

  • Mini hand held fan

  • Ice pack vests (this is quite costly, so it wasn’t included in the list, but is available)
